The day has come...Merry Christmas!

The Birth of Jesus
1At that time the Roman emperor, Augustus, decreed that a census should be taken throughout the Roman Empire. 2(This was the first census taken when Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3All returned to their own ancestral towns to register for this census. 4And because Joseph was a descendant of King David, he had to go to Bethlehem in Judea, David’s ancient home. He traveled there from the village of Nazareth in Galilee. 5He took with him Mary, his fiancĂ©e, who was now obviously pregnant.
6And while they were there, the time came for her baby to be born. 7She gave birth to her first child, a son. She wrapped him snugly in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no lodging available for them.
The Shepherds and Angels
8That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep. 9Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified, 10but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. 11The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! 12And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.”
13Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God and saying,
14“Glory to God in highest heaven,
and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.”
15When the angels had returned to heaven, the shepherds said to each other, “Let’s go to Bethlehem! Let’s see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
16They hurried to the village and found Mary and Joseph. And there was the baby, lying in the manger. 17After seeing him, the shepherds told everyone what had happened and what the angel had said to them about this child. 18All who heard the shepherds’ story were astonished, 19but Mary kept all these things in her heart and thought about them often. 20The shepherds went back to their flocks, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen. It was just as the angel had told them.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE!!

Snowballs!

These are so good and remind you of Pecan Sandies or whatever your family calls those little powdered cookies! I added Christmas sprinkles to mine that's why they look green and red polka dotted! ENJOY!
1 1/2 cups (3 sticks) butter, softened
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1 Tbsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
3 cups flour
(10-oz. pkg.) NESTLE TOLL HOUSE SWIRLED Holiday Morsels(or white if you can't find the swirls)
1/2 cup finely chopped nuts (I used walnuts)
Powdered sugar
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Beat butter, sugar, vanilla and salt in large bowl until creamy. Gradually beat in flour. Stir in morsels and nuts. Shape level tablespoons of dough into 1 1/4-inch balls. Place on ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until cookies are set and lightly browned. Remove from oven. Sift powdered sugar over hot cookies on baking sheets. Cool on baking sheets for 10 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely. Spinkle with additional powdered sugar, if desires. Store in airtight contains. Makes about 4 dozen cookies

YUM!

These are in my top favs for Christmas cookies.....or goodies!! My good friend Dawn makes them every year and always brings them to my Christmas party and in the last few years has given me my own private stash to enjoy! ha All these years that I've loved them I've never made them so with her permission.....I did and am posting it! yum It's so easy and reminiscent of a Butterfinger!
1 Box Extra large Cheez Its
Peanut butter (I adore Jif myself!)
1 bag Milk Choc. chips (or you can use disks)
Spread peanut butter between two crackers, press together and dip in melted choc. As you will see I used an 8 x 8 glass dish and it was perfect for dipping with tongs. Place on Waxed paper and place in the refrigerator for half an hr. or so! You will love these! Sprinkle with Christmas sprinkles to add a pretty touch! ENJOY and thanks Dawn!

tis the season for reindeer treats!

Reindeer treats are the easiest and yummiest treats you can make! Grace has a bake sale today at her school and they like small individually packed treats so they are affordable to the kids! I found these adorable folding bags at the dollar store in packages of 4! so cute! there's a cellophane window to show what is inside!
Fill a baking sheet with small reg. pretzels, place a Hershey Kiss on top of each pretzel and bake at 300* for 2-3 mins. (I test if it's melting enough to push an M & M in it by pushing on it with my finger, if you don't feel a hard center you're good to go!) Place a red M & M in the center and push down. Let cool a few hours. If you need them quicker, put them in the freezer for just a few minutes!
Now I laid awake one night thinking of all the GREAT combos you could make with these since there are SO many flavors of Kisses these days, so here goes: Coconut kiss with a whole almond on top! Cherry kiss with a candied cherry! Milk chocolate Kiss with a Snowcap on top! Caramel with a whole Pecan! Mint Kiss with Mint M & M's......just to name a few of the combos you could do!! Off to the bake sale! ENJOY!

I am going...to lay in bed and work on the necklace!
I am reading...Mrs. Miracle
I am hoping...to wrap gifts tomorrow afternoon!
I am hearing...total quiet...BEDTIME!
Around the house...It's looks ALOT like Christmas!
